ABOUT US:
The Spelman Student Government Association (SSGA) is a body composed of elected and appointed student representatives which meets regularly to discuss matters of general concern regarding students. The assembly acts as a liaison between the student body and the faculty, staff and administration by presenting propos-als, programs, activities, and resolutions that reflect the tenor of student opinion. The SGA also seeks to foster sisterhood among Spelman women as well as to help students gain an understanding of themselves, society, and the African American heritage. Spelman College is committed to building a community of African American Women who are leaders of tomorrow. The school strongly encourages each woman to get in-volved in the various committees, programs, and activities sponsored by the SSGA.

Message to the Class of 2015:
Welcome to the sisterhood! We hope that you have enjoyed your NSO week. Make sure that you remember everything that you learned in NSO and apply it to your Spelman experience. You are about to embark on the best four years of your life. Don’t hold back. You have the tools to do anything you set your mind to. Study hard, get involved, and most importantly have fun!
